The Orchards of Haspengouwen

Thise rides will start @ Café Coureur in Kerniel. And will usually lead you on white gravel roads between the many fruit trees for which the area is known. This route is beautiful all year round, at the end of April when everything is in bloom or at the end of summer when the fruit is ready to be harvested, the experience becomes much greater.

The first option will be more in the orchards, slightly flatter but with more gravel. halfway you are close to the station of Sint-Truiden, which makes this route ideal for coming by train.

Alternatively, you can ride a course with a little more climbing and 2 fun single track descents. This one not only has less gravel, we will also spend a little less time in the orchards. But as a present, some super beautiful sunken roads, the border of doubt and the see-through church are discussed.

It’s up to you which one you do, or ride the 1st loop of the Orchids & Highlights track and at the Abbey Mariënlof or the floating chapel you switch tracks and so you have a longer route (close to 100 km) where you have seen everything.

This first loop is 38.8 km and is also perfect as a shorter 40 km ride. At the abbey (where the Fruit Region Museum is located) is 800 m from Café Coureur.
