Gravel & Coffee, Flemish Ardennes

With a bit of a delay and without Flanders Greatest. We will be at La Houppe. But because of the Pro peloton is not around we will be able to go and explore 4 of the legendary cobbled bergs: Kwaremont, Pater, Koppenberg & Taaienberg will be part of our route.
We will come back in October for the tour of Flanders’. Than we will take an other route so we can see the race pass by (when allowed by the authority)
Due to COVID our breakfast will be a bit different but there is place enough so everyone can enjoy a save and tasty breakfast provided by Brasserie D’Hoppe.
A 55 km gravel ride on good rolling gravel, dirt, cobbles and some paved roads, good company and a the recording of the live podcast after the ride are the ingredients of a great day.
pro mtber Kevin Panhuyzen will join the ride and talk about his cycling adventures and the love for Gravel grinding he discovered recently.
The course should not be too technical, and along the road we stop just after the second supply zone to see the Tour of Flanders. Our adventure will entirely be devoted on being outside together.
We gather around the breakfast table starting 9 am and will ride on at 10 am.
For those who prefer not to have the breakfast, Coffee before + coffee and brownie afterwards is also possible for € 20. You can also ride alone, the GPX will be in your mail on Friday. If you go for the solo ride you will get the Ferm Kombucha at the start.
Included in the ticket price will be:
* A breakfast buffet provided by Brasserie D’Hoppe
* A guided Social group ride with a lot of experience on Gravel, Dirt and Paved roads.
* A Ferm Kombucha on the top of the Koppenberg
* A drink and some cake after the Ride.
* The GPS track.
* Photo service: find images of the ride on the Gravel & Coffee Facebook / Instagram page and tag yourself.
* A live podcast with 2 guests, we will have a coffee conversation about Gravel, Cycling Adventures and everything you may need to make your adventures big and small a great success.
* Everyone who participate in at least 6 Gravel & Coffee Breakfast Rides in 2020, will get the exclusive Gravel & Coffee, King of the Gravel Roads T-shirt by The Vandal.
Gravel & Coffee is a series of social gravel rides organized by Der Lokomotiv, Cycling Adventures.
We have carefully chosen the roads so that we can have the best possible group experience. The ride should not be too technical but some more challenging sections can spice the ride. Our adventures will entirely be devoted on being outside together.
Mountain Bikers and the more experienced Roadies are welcome, but the track is made with Gravel Bikes in mind. So if you accompany us, be mentally prepared for a route that is not always the most suitable for your bike.
The gravel rides are unsupported, what means there will never be a car nearby or feeding stations on the way. We will have to solve our mechanical problems ourselves. So you will have to bring and carry your own stuff, but it is still a social event, so We will help each other out. We will leave no one behind.
Wearing a bicycle helmet is mandatory during our journeys
Every participant declares to be the holder of a third-party civil liability insurance policy
Our adventure is a social story, both to members of the group and to outsiders. Respect the highway code and be courteous to other road users. Gravel paths are excellent and often busy hiking trails, where people with children and pets experience their own adventures. A group of cyclists can quickly come across as a threat, so we kindly ask you to pass serene and say Hi. This way we can ensure that these types of journeys can continue to exist.
